Krishna was born to Devaki and Vasudeva couple, when they were imprisoned by Devaki’s brother, Kamsa. Krishna was born as the 8th child of Devaki-Vasudeva couple. All the first 7 infants were killed by Kamsa. Mathura is considered as the birth place of Krishna. Hindus celebrate Krishna Janmashtami by fasting, worshiping Krishna and by performing Pooja.
